“I like to take familiar images out of their original context and bring them together until they become something slightly strange, something that could not exist anywhere else.”
Rosalie Evard (b. 1994, Couvet, Switzerland) lives and works in the canton of Neuchâtel. Her figurative paintings originate in digital collages combining found imagery and personal photographs. Through unexpected associations, shifts in scale and fragmented bodies, she transforms familiar visual references into enigmatic compositions that oscillate between humour, absurdity and unease.
