Add Fuel (Diogo Machado, b. 1980, Cascais, Portugal) is a Portuguese contemporary artist whose practice reinterprets the visual language of traditional Portuguese azulejo tiles through a distinctly contemporary lens. Drawing on ceramics, painting, stencil, murals and installation, he creates intricate compositions in which geometric patterns, ornamental structures and unexpected imagery coexist. His work explores ideas of heritage, identity, transformation and what lies beneath the surface, establishing a dialogue between historical visual traditions and contemporary urban culture.
